ANALISIS KETIDAKTERSEDIAAN GUIDING BLOCK SERTA URGENSINYA TERHADAP PENYANDANG TUNANETRA PADA AREA PEDESTRIAN UDAYANA DI MATARAM

Abstract

The lack of facilities and accessibility for people with disabilities restricts their movement in public spaces. This prompted the author to investigate the absence of guiding blocks on the pedestrian walkway of Jl. Udayana in Mataram City and its urgency for the disabled, especially the visually impaired. The aim of this research is to understand the impact of the unavailability of guiding blocks and propose solutions to address this issue for people with disabilities. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive through observation on the pedestrian walkway of Jl. Udayana in Mataram City and analyzing the main problem of the unavailability of guiding blocks. Based on the analysis of the problem, data obtained show that the number of people with disabilities in NTB in 2022 was 28,652. This high number underscores the necessity of guiding blocks along the pedestrian walkway of Jl. Udayana, not only because it is a frequently visited park by the public, but also because it is the government's obligation to fulfill the right to accessibility for people with disabilities as stipulated by regulations.
