Author Guidelines

WIDYANATA welcomes the submission of high-quality research articles related to Social Planning and Policy Studies. To ensure a smooth submission and publication process, authors are requested to adhere to the following guidelines:

1. Scope of Submissions

Widyanata Journal publishes empirical research, theoretical analysis, case studies, and reviews addressing various issues in the field of social planning and policy at national, regional, and international levels. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Social Policy and Welfare

  • Urban and Regional Planning

  • Public Health and Social Services

  • Environmental Planning and Sustainability

  • Social Justice and Equity

  • Education Policy and Planning

  • Governance and Policy Implementation

  • Global and Comparative Social Policy

2. Manuscript Submission

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically via the journal's online submission system. Submissions should include the following:

  • Title page: The title of the manuscript, author names, affiliations, and corresponding author contact information.

  • Abstract: A concise summary of the manuscript (150-250 words).

  • Keywords: A list of 3-5 relevant keywords.

  • Main text: The body of the manuscript, including an introduction, method, results and discussion, and conclusion.

  • References: All citations in the manuscript must adhere to the APA Style (7th Edition).

  • Figures and Tables: Tables and figures must be placed in the manuscript where appropriate and should have clear titles and captions.

3. Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts should be prepared as follows:

  • Font: Use Times New Roman, 12-point font for the body text.

  • Spacing: Double-spacing throughout the manuscript, including references, figures, and tables.

  • Margins: Use 1-inch margins on all sides.

  • Paragraphs: Indent the first line of each paragraph by 0.5 inches.

  • Length: Manuscripts should be between 4,000 and 6,000 words, including references.

  • Headings: Use clear, descriptive headings and subheadings. The manuscript should be organized as follows:

    • Title (centered)

    • Abstract (centered)

    • Main sections (Introduction, Methodology, Results and Discussion, Conclusion)

    • References

4. Citation and Referencing

WIDYANATA adopts the APA Style (7th Edition) for all citations and references. Authors should ensure that:

  • In-text citations are formatted correctly (e.g., Author, Year) for all references mentioned in the manuscript.

  • The reference list is complete and follows APA guidelines, with all sources listed in alphabetical order.

  • DOI or URLs are included for online sources, when available.

5. Plagiarism and Originality

All manuscripts submitted to Widyanata must be original and not have been previously published or under consideration elsewhere. The journal uses plagiarism detection tools to ensure the originality of submitted content. Any manuscript found to be plagiarized will be rejected, and the authors may be barred from submitting to the journal in the future.

6. Peer Review Process

All manuscripts are subject to a double-blind peer review process. Authors will receive feedback from at least two experts in the field, and the final decision on publication will be made by the editorial board based on the reviewers' recommendations.

7. Ethical Guidelines

Authors must adhere to the ethical guidelines outlined in the Publication Ethics Statement. This includes proper citation of sources, ensuring the integrity of data, and disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest.

8. Copyright and Open Access

Widyanata Journal follows an open-access policy, meaning that all published articles are freely available to readers worldwide. Authors retain copyright to their work, but they must grant the journal a license to publish and distribute the article.

9. Corrections and Retractions

If any errors are identified in a published article, authors must promptly notify the editor. Corrections, retractions, or clarifications will be issued when necessary, and the reasons for such actions will be clearly stated.

10. Submission Checklist

Before submitting your manuscript, please ensure that:

  • The manuscript follows the formatting and citation guidelines (APA Style 7th Edition).

  • All required components (title page, abstract, keywords, manuscript, references, etc.) are included.

  • The manuscript has been proofread and is free of grammatical errors.

  • The manuscript is original and not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

11. Submission Process

  3. Upload the manuscript along with any supplementary files.

  4. Confirm submission details and submit.
