This study compares the direct costs and construction durations of precast U-Ditch and conventional concrete methods using cyclopean concrete reinforced with wiremesh for a 109.2 m drainage project on Bresela Road, Payangan District, Gianyar Regency, Bali, Indonesia. A quantitative comparative approach was employed using field data, construction drawings, cost estimates, and project schedules. Cost calculations were based on the 2025 Unit Price Analysis for Gianyar Regency and Ministry of Public Works and Housing Regulation No. 8 of 2023. The results indicate that the precast U-Ditch method requires 15 days, compared with 41 days for the conventional method. Thus, the precast method reduces the calculated construction duration by 26 days, equivalent to a time efficiency of 63.41%. However, its direct cost of IDR 148,682,138.91 is higher than the conventional method's cost of IDR 127,349,690.70. The difference of IDR 21,332,448.21 indicates that the conventional method is 14.35% less expensive than the precast method. Therefore, method selection should reflect project priorities, particularly faster construction or lower direct costs.
I Gusti Ngurah Putu Dharmayasa, Komang Agus Gunawan, I Komang Agus Ariana, Decky Cipta Indrashwara, Putu Ariawan Copyright (c) 2026 Jurnal Teknik Gradien https://ojs.unr.ac.id/index.php/teknikgradien/article/view/1817 Sat, 31 Oct 2026 00:00:00 +0000
